I think I’m the last conservative girl on the planet.. well, me and my friends.
So, yes, I’m back to online dating to build my roster… coming across all sorts of interesting folks… Here’s a letter I received from Frank:
“Hello from Frank.
Your profile was selected by OkCupid as someone I would like to see, and am dropping you this note to say hi. My name is Frank and I am a professional white 50 year old married poly* man, and would enjoy chatting with you when you have the time. I also use the email email@example.com . I travel on business in Asia, and like to visit and explore new places.
Hope you are enjoying your week, and it would be a pleasure talking some more with you!
* poly as in polyamorous: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyamory
Isn’t he sweet to think of me, thinking that I would be a good fit for his group/clan? I know very sweet. I’m thinking about it… 🙂
He said “…a professional white 50 year old married poly man…” (As far as I can tell, he managed to fit two strong ‘vetoes’ into one sentence.)
I had to look up the “poly” term…yikes. But, this is fabulous news! For me! Not for you! 🙂
As I said to someone yesterday, this means that I when clear out my head and heart, and try dating again…THIS is my ‘competition’ for wonderful ladies like you!
If this is how most guys approach online dating, I will be getting bundles of proposal letters like Tom Hanks did in Sleepless in Seattle. And Tom didn’t even post a photo online; he just waffled about being a little tired and missing his sweetheart.
Am I missing some important point? 🙂
is there any room in that phonebooth (I date myself) for that convention of the last remaing conservative group of daters.
Next time you will get a hit from a Sister/Wife group asking if he, she and she can meet you for a glass of butter milk while you enjoy your cosmo..
They say there is somone for every one. The key phrase is “one”… at a time.
Don’t give up just better fish with a line and not a net as you can once in a while pull in one of those fish from the deep dark parts of the ocean.
be well H.S:
